ENGI-NERDS - Is it possible to UNDERSTAND them?

I wasn't sure it was possible, untill my friend sent me a GREAT Email. I'm only going to include the first 3, but for those of you who know my husband, or any other engineers... well, I think you'll enjoy :) The first one is a little risque, but as it illustrates the compleate geek-dom of some engineers... though I have to say # 3 make me laugh out LOUD thinking of my joey ;) Not at ALL that he's insensitive... just... an engineer :) Love you baby! Hope you all Enjoy!

Understanding Engineers - Take One
Two engineering students were walking across a university campus when one said, "Where did you get such a great bike?"

The second engineer replied, "Well, I was walking along yesterday, minding my own business, when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike, threw it to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, "Take what you want."

The second engineer nodded approvingly and said, "Good choice; the clothes probably wouldn't have fit you anyway."

Understanding Engineers - Take Two

To the optimist, the glass is half full.

To the pessimist, the glass is half empty.

To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Understanding Engineers - Take Three

A priest, a doctor, and an engineer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers.

The engineer fumed, "What's with those guys? We must have been waiting for fifteen minutes!"

The doctor chimed in, "I don't know, but I've never seen such inept golf!"

The priest said, "Here comes the greens keeper. Let's have a word with him."He said, "Hello, George! what's wrong with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?"

The greens keeper replied, "Oh, yes. That's a group of blind firefighters. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime." The group fell silent for a moment.

The priest said, "That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight."

The doctor said, "Good idea. I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist colleague and see i f there's anything he can do for them."

The engineer said, "Why can't they play at night?"

Oooo - soo PURRRRRDY!

Ok, so kinda wierd, but I REALLY Like FKPs and these are some of their rocken new designs!
Oh Silver Handbag, where have you been all my life?!

Going to the Pound

So last week Tues I started driving toward Las Vegas so that my little sister could finally meet her puppy. We had a great time, had lunch at a little Mexican restaurant and spend time chilling at a hotel while CiCi and LaLa played with the puppies. Even the trip home started out ok until.... I pulled off to get gas about 80 miles from Provo. I got back on the freeway and got into a groove,

snacking and listening to music, frequently looking at how LONG I had been driving instead of checking in what DIRECTION! Since it was pitch dark out and signs are extreemly sporatic, it was almost 35 MILES before I realized I was going the wrong way! SUCK! Of course, that meant I sped up the setting on the cruise control... which, in turn lead to my ticket. You know, people drive that strip at 15-20 over at I was doing a measly 11 over! Where's the justice?! I guess Joey gets to do the distance driving for a while!

PUPPIES!!

Ok, so they're not mine, but since they're my brother's and sister's puppies, and the dark one (Boom) puked on me yesterday, I think I can claim some sort of kinship to them! :) I have zillions more where this one came from, so if any of you puppy fanatics would like to see more, just let me know and I will post 'em!
Good thing for Joe I'm alergic... though I haven't really had a reaction to them yet.... hmmmmmm... ;)

ARG!

OW! I just had an extraction - do you know what that is? They go in and remove all traces of tooth root from your mouth - fun fun fun! Let me tell you! Actually, I can't really tell you cuz I think they had their laughing gas on super consentrated and I was WAY off in LA LA land! WOAH was that stuff good! They could have removed my SPLEEN and I wouldn't have cared one BIT! HEHE - that stuff was GOOD! In fact, they gave me some, then had to turn it off so I could sign some consent forms and I was MAD! GIMME DRUGS! Maybe I should have eaten something first... but then I couldn't have sung songs for American Idol or pranced in flowery fields with Barney! Normaly hate that stupid dragon, but what's there to hate when you're floating away on clouds of Nitrous Oxide! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can I get some of that to go?!

7 Wonders?

So... this is a great thing, right?! The 7 New Wonders of the world! Then why am I so confliced and why am i so confused?
i dont know, maybe part is because I feel a little guilty because what I REALLY want to do is just vote for the most famous... but does that make them worthy of being the new 7 WONDERS? I feel guilty! Should I REALLY look into every SINGLE one? or is ok if I kind of just guess? Is it Morally wrong if I do? I mean, this IS history, right? But what really is the criteria? I mean, anything you like built before 2000 - what kind of criteria is that?! Maybe the truth is I'm just too lasy or ADD prone to actually read all the discriptions and can't bring myself to vote without it!
That's my excuse - what's yours? Go vote! :)

THE BLESSING OF GREAT FRIENDS!

A week ago I was blessed with the visit of two of the best friends I have ever had, and probably ever will have. We didn't have to go out and do anything "faboulous" or exciting - really, all we had to do was spend time in the same dwelling and my life felt richer and more full of hope and light. Then, as if that wasn't enough, Sunday night we were able to have a few other special friends over - some friends I have shared special times in my life with, and others, brand new. At the end of the night, I was just overwhelmed with feelings of gratitued and could not help but realize how greatly Joe and I are blessed. What an amazing thing it is to have good friends. I really could not have been blessed with better ones!
I thank God for the amazing people he has placed in my life - I'm not quite sure you all understand how dramatically you effect my existance! When I am full of the most gratitude and am consitering the "riches" I have been blessed with, My Friends always come to mind as one of the greatest gifts I have ever been given. - Thank you!
(I guess this is what comes from being the middle child ;)

My Gram

So this is a picture of my Grandma JoAnn. Last week Friday I get a call explaining how my Grandma had just called 911 and my family was thinking she might have had a stroke, though she has been healthy as a horse ever since her polio 40 years ago! I was horrified but as soon as she was seen by doctors, they were able to tell us that it hadn't been a stroke. Instead, she was suffering from a major infection or virus that had taken over her body, dropping her blood pressure extreemly low as well as dropping her tempature to only 94! She was so weak she couldn't move from the bathroom, where, thankfully again, my father had installed a telephone. In truth, if he hadn't.... well, it might not be such a happy story now :( BUT she is doing MUCH better and should be coming home from the hospital either today or tommorrow!! Yippy! I mean, I know she's almost 91 and all, but she acts like she's about 60! She was even cracking jokes about how she was on the "thrown" when the EMT's came and about what a CRAPPY place that was to be found! If she keeps it up, I have no doubt she'll make it to 112! Posted by Picasa

Our Visitor!

For those of you who don't know, Joe and I have a Visitor! Our friends are on vacation for about a week, so we're watching their fun-loving 2 year old! What a cutie, huh?
He's really been quite an angel. IT's also fun because the kid is always laughing! It's as if he can't help himself! He just has this almost constant little chuckle that is so ridiculously cute :)

It is an adventure having him stay with us - not at all because he's difficult but just because we're not used to having a 3rd person in the house! Much less a 3rd person that actually needs your help every once in a while! But we love having him :) So far he hasn't seemed to miss mom and dad too much, which I'm sure would make things a lot more difficult - lets just hope that lasts till the end of the trip! :)
